Writing code has given me a new perspective on game design. It made me realize that it isn't just all fun and games (no pun intended.) It took about an hour just to make a game that kept score and had 2d objects moving around, and it didn't even have animation. Game design has evolved dramatically over the past 20 years. I may have been able to design a game like Final Fantasy by the end of this class, but I would have no idea how to even start making Final Fantasy 13.
